Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive PT evaluations for inpatients and develop individualized treatment plans to address mobility, strength, balance, gait, and functional goals.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, manual therapy, and disability prevention strategies, while monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, therapists); participate in rounds; communicate discharge plans and home exercise programs to patients and families.
- Document patient encounters, progress notes, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; ensure compliance with hospital policies and infection control procedures.
- Prioritize and manage an inpatient caseload, coordinate scheduling, and provide timely discharge planning and patient education.
Requirements
- Active physical therapy license for the state of Colorado (or eligible and progressing toward licensure per credentialing requirements)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent
- Inpatient/hospital-based PT experience preferred
- CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment; availability for the described schedule and potential Saturday coverage
