Job Description - Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Embark on a transformative journey as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, bringing compassionate care, expert clinical skills, and a patient-centered approach to families in Pella, Iowa. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to shape birth experiences, support new families, and grow professionally within a dynamic specialty. Imagine guiding expectant families through one of life’s most meaningful moments, coordinating with a high-performing obstetric team, and applying evidence-based practices that elevate both safety and joy in the delivery room. Nestled in the heart of Iowa, Pella offers a welcoming community vibe with a rich Dutch heritage, excellent schools, nearby parks and lakes, and a pace that blends small-town charm with modern amenities. Beyond Pella, there may be options to extend your impact across other locations across the United States, enriching your clinical perspective and expanding your professional network while you deliver outstanding care.

Location Benefits: Working in Pella, IA, you’ll enjoy a community that values warmth, family, and quality of life. The city’s distinctive character—historic windmills, boutique shopping, locally roasted coffee, and family-friendly events—creates a supportive backdrop for extended patient contact and meaningful team collaboration. Iowa’s healthcare landscape offers robust resources, strong nurse-to-patient ratios, and a culture that prioritizes patient advocacy and continuous learning. For those who crave variety, there’s the opportunity to work across diverse locations within the U.S., experiencing different hospital settings, community needs, and regional practices. This blend of stable, welcoming hometown living with potential travel across the country makes it possible to enrich clinical expertise while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Role Specifics and Benefits: In this Labor and Delivery assignment, you’ll provide expert nursing care to laboring patients, support for hospital births, and comprehensive postpartum and newborn care. Key responsibilities include continuous fetal monitoring, assessment of maternal and fetal status, administration of medications, management of labor progress, coordination with obstetricians and midwives, assisting with delivery, and immediate newborn care including resuscitation readiness and lactation support. You’ll educate families about newborn care, breastfeeding, and postnatal recovery while documenting accurately in electronic medical records and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards. The role offers pathways for professional growth within the L&D specialty, including opportunities to champion patient education initiatives, participate in evidence-based practice projects, and pursue advanced certifications that reflect your evolving expertise. Competitive benefits accompany the position: a weekly pay range of $1,807 to $1,854, with housing assistance and potential extension opportunities to align with patient flow and staffing needs. A bonus structure may be available, and you’ll have the option to extend engagements based on performance, unit needs, and personal career goals. A cornerstone of the arrangement is comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including 24/7 assistance as you relocate and adapt to new environments, ensuring you always have a reliable partner whether you’re settling in Pella or moving between assignments. The role is designed to align with real-world scheduling needs, with Start Date set for 02/10/2026 and assignments described in weeks, allowing you to plan ahead. While you’ll benefit from clear expectations and a cooperative staffing model, it’s important to note that actual hours and compensation are subject to assignment specifics and staffing requirements, with final details confirmed during the hiring process.

Company Values: Our partner organization is committed to empowering its staff through a culture of learning, mentorship, and professional advancement. You’ll be part of a supportive, inclusive environment that prioritizes open communication, ongoing education, and teamwork. The emphasis on career development means you’ll find opportunities to grow within L&D—whether through specialized certifications, leadership tracks, or cross-disciplinary collaboration—while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care. The company believes in recognizing contributions, fostering work-life balance where possible, and building a resilient workforce that can adapt to clinical needs with integrity and empathy.

Call to Action: If you’re a dedicated RN with a passion for Labor and Delivery and a desire to make a tangible difference for families in diverse settings, this is your chance to join a team that values your expertise and supports your professional journey. Apply now to start a rewarding chapter that combines the warmth of Iowa with the adventure of travel, continuous learning, and a commitment to exceptional patient outcomes. Your skills, compassion, and leadership can elevate birth experiences—help shape the future of obstetric care with a company that stands beside you every step of the way.

Note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
