Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Tele Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry in Massena, NY. This travel assignment begins on 04/20/2026 and runs for multiple weeks. You’ll work nights on a 3x12-hour schedule (7:30pm–7:30am) on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit within a rural critical-access setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,002 to $2,066. There are no guaranteed hours. The role requires EPIC charting proficiency, travel experience, and a NY license in hand to submit. First-time travelers are not accepted. The unit serves adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, chest pain (rule out), and non-specific abdominal pain. Interdisciplinary support includes PT, Respiratory, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, and a Unit Secretary.

Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to rhythm changes to ensure patient safety
- Establish and maintain vascular access (IV starts, peripheral lines; PICC/central lines as needed) and administer medications and blood products per protocol
- Provide respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy) and assist with airway management
- Assess adults and geriatrics with COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, chest pain (rule out), and abdominal pain; implement care plans and coordinate with the team
- Collaborate with PT, Respiratory Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy; document in EPIC; participate in RRT/Code events as needed
- Float to other units per policy; uphold infection control precautions

Requirements
- Active NY RN license in hand to submit
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC experience is required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Return staff: 1 year (must not have worked at the facility within 1 year to be eligible)
