Job Description - Travel Registered Nurse Observation Unit Job

Take on a pivotal role as a Travel Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit, where precision, empathy, and fast thinking shape every patient interaction. In this specialty you’ll conduct focused observation, rapid reassessment, and coordinated care that safeguard safety and throughput. Your expertise guides timely discharges, supports complex care plans, and comforts families during critical moments. This assignment in Rochester, New York blends clinical challenge with a city known for culture, innovation, and easy access to scenic escapes. Picture weekend explorations along the Finger Lakes, sunsets over Lake Ontario, or a stroll through historic neighborhoods after a rewarding shift. If you want daily professional growth and immediate impact, this opportunity fits. And for travelers, the program opens doors to other remarkable locations across the United States, broadening your horizons while advancing your career.

Rochester offers a supportive hospital network, diverse patient populations, and a lively, accessible urban scene. Work in a modern facility with advanced telemetry, rapid response teams, and colleagues who value learning and evidence-based practice. The region’s beauty—Genesee River Gorge, the Finger Lakes wine country, nearby parks—provides a refreshing backdrop for downtime. For those who crave variety, our travel program can place you in different U.S. locations as needs evolve, delivering unique clinical experiences and ongoing growth, all backed by a dedicated support team.

Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive observations, monitoring vitals, initiating early warning scores, and communicating changes to the care team. You’ll assist with ED-to-unit transitions, support discharge planning, and contribute to accurate documentation in the EMR while upholding infection control and patient safety. Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and allied staff, you’ll coordinate timely interventions and high-quality care. The role offers clear growth paths within the Observation Unit, deepening expertise in acute medical care and telemetry. Compensation is competitive, with a bonus program and housing assistance to ease relocation. You’ll have the option to extend your contract for additional multi-week assignments aligned to your goals. A 24/7 travel support team, scheduling and credentialing assistance, and ongoing training ensure you feel supported anywhere you work. Start date is 04/13/2026 for an open-ended number of weeks, with weekly pay between $2,120 and $2,152 and no guaranteed hours, offering flexibility that rewards reliability and initiative.

Our company is dedicated to empowering nurses, enabling career advancement, and fostering a collaborative, safe work culture. We invest in growth through mentorship, skills development, leadership opportunities, and a workplace that respects and uplifts every team member. Whether you pursue deeper expertise in observation medicine or aspire to leadership, you’ll find a clear path here that recognizes your contributions and shapes your progress.

Ready to join a team that values your clinical judgment and professional growth? Apply today to begin a rewarding chapter in Rochester, with opportunities to broaden horizons across the U.S. and to make a lasting impact on patient care. Your next assignment awaits—make it yours.

Note: The hours and pay listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
