Job Description - Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job


Overview
RN - PCU - Nights in Aspen, CO, United States. Start date 04/20/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay ranges from $2,536 to $2,693. Shift: 3x12 nights (7:00 pm–7:00 am). Setting: patient care unit in a rural Critical Access hospital. Guaranteed hours: 0.0.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the PCU as the primary nurse within a rural Critical Access hospital setting
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications and IV therapies, manage wounds, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement care plans, communicate with physicians, and support patient and family education
- Document care in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate handoffs at shift change; uphold patient safety and oxygenation, especially in a high-altitude environment
- Support discharge planning and patient education while adhering to infection prevention and safety protocols

Requirements
- Unrestricted Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain prior to start date
- ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; may be obtained on hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to function safely in a high-altitude, low-oxygen environment (8,000 ft elevation)
