Job Description - Travel Registered Nurse Pediatrics Job

Embark on a meaningful career journey as a Pediatric Registered Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This role places you at the heart of children's health, where your clinical expertise and compassionate communication help families navigate common pediatric concerns, emergencies, and everyday wellness. You will partner with physicians, therapists, and school and community resources to promote healing, resilience, and healthy development. In this assignment, you’re not just filling a shift—you’re shaping care experiences that linger in a child’s memory. The Central Coast location blends professional challenge with the charm of coastal living, creating a setting where work inspires and fills your days with purpose. The region’s natural beauty—rolling hills, pristine beaches, tide pools, and nearby wine country—offers inviting opportunities to unwind and reconnect with what matters most.

Location benefits extend beyond your base in San Luis Obispo. While you contribute to a pediatric program serving local families, the position also provides exposure to diverse settings across California and, when desired, other locations across the United States. This flexibility supports a broad clinical lens—community clinics, pediatric units, emergency departments, and school health programs—while preserving the continuity and camaraderie of a trusted travel‑style team. You’ll experience unique health systems, patient populations, and cultural communities, all while enjoying the safety net of a stable employer that prioritizes your well‑being and professional growth.

Starting 02/16/2026, you’ll embark on multi‑week engagements designed to acclimate you quickly while expanding your pediatric nursing repertoire. This program emphasizes learning by doing: you’ll assess and triage pediatric patients, implement evidence‑based plans, administer medications, monitor vital signs, manage IV therapies when needed, and support families with clear, empathetic guidance. You’ll collaborate with neonatology and pediatrics teams, participate in rounds, and contribute to discharge planning and follow up. The role balances autonomy with robust clinical supervision, helping you refine assessment skills, clinical judgment, and patient education delivery in fast‑paced environments. Note that there are no guaranteed hours; scheduling is based on patient load and assignment length, with opportunities to extend based on performance and unit needs.

Competitive compensation is paired with thoughtful benefits: weekly pay in the range of $1,829 to $1,940, with opportunities for bonus structures based on performance and length of assignment. Housing assistance is available to ease transitions, and there are extension opportunities should you find a unit and community that resonates with you. You’ll have access to comprehensive support throughout your travels, including 24/7 assistance from a dedicated team that’s ready to help with scheduling, safety, or clinical questions. While traveling, you’ll benefit from a stable support network, clear escalation paths, and resources designed to keep you safe, supported, and professionally fulfilled.

At the core, the company is committed to empowering its staff—investing in continuing education, leadership opportunities, and transparent advancement tracks. A supportive work environment means mentorship, peer collaboration, and a culture that recognizes the expertise you bring to pediatric care. You’ll have access to clinical resources, evidence‑based practice updates, and structured opportunities to develop specialty competencies within pediatrics, from acute care to chronic disease management and family education. The program’s passion for pediatric health extends to you as a professional—your ideas, your learning pace, and your dedication are welcomed, celebrated, and advanced.

Ready to apply? This is your chance to join a program that values your contribution and your professional development as you care for children and support families on the Central Coast and beyond. If you’re passionate about pediatric health, excited by travel‑style assignments, and drawn to a setting that blends natural beauty with professional purpose, submit your application today and take the next step in your nursing career.

Please note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
