In this role, you will undertake key responsibilities that define best-in-class PICC nursing practice. You’ll conduct thorough assessments of PICC lines, ensure aseptic technique during dressing changes, monitor for signs of infection or phlebitis, perform regular line maintenance and flushing per protocol, and document care with accuracy and clarity in patient records. You’ll educate patients and families about PICC line care, potential complications, and activity restrictions, empowering them to participate actively in their own healing. You’ll collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, WOC nurses, and IV therapy teams to optimize line function and safety, participate in rounds, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
