Colorado Academy seeks a full-time Social Studies teaching candidate to cover a leave of absence from Monday, November 17 to Friday, March 20 in the 2025-2026 school year. The position begins early in trimester two and concludes at spring break in mid-trimester three. It includes two sections of tenth grade US History, and two electives open to eleventh and twelfth graders: American Political Parties, which will conclude at the end of trimester two on February 11, and Ancient Civilizations, which will begin at the start of trimester three on February 17.
Candidates should have experience, training, and/or a demonstrated interest in teaching Social Studies in a student-centered classroom at the secondary school level. Candidates should be interested in working on a team with other teachers as well as working independently to design curriculum and evaluate student work.
Candidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Additionally, candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the school community and take on other duties as assigned. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Demonstrated intercultural competence, which we define as the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives, identities, and lived experiences, is a must.

The pay for the full-time equivalent of this position is $63,200 - $113,900, actual compensation will be prorated based on time commitment. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
