What You’ll Do

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for implementing the daily operations of the Grand River Volunteer  and MOW programs to attract, inspire, train, and effectively deploy volunteers. 

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding processes, assisting with training and scheduling, and providing immediate support and guidance on any volunteer-related issues or questions.


• Motivate and inspire volunteers, fostering a sense of teamwork and ensuring that their activities align with the needs of the organization.


• Supports communication and promotional efforts by creating flyers, posters, social media graphics, and other materials for volunteer opportunities and events.


• Assists with social media posts, newsletters, and website updates to share program news and recognize volunteers, while maintaining photo and story archives for use in communications and promotions.


• Provides administrative support, including maintaining accurate volunteer and event records in databases and spreadsheets, preparing reports and updates for the Director, Board, and leadership, and handling clerical tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing correspondence.

Who We’re Looking For

• Associate’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, design, or related field preferred.


• Professional related experience in related field accepted in lieu of degree.


• Prior experience in volunteer coordination, event support, or community engagement preferred.

What We Offer
Our total rewards package includes

• Pay Range: $25.25 - 28.05/hour (based on experience)


• Shift Differentials: $2–$4/hour for nights and weekends


• PRN Differential: 10% differential in addition to base rate salary

Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
