Zumba Gold Instructor

Position Summary
The Round Lake Area Park District is seeking an enthusiastic and inclusive group fitness instructor to lead Zumba Gold or similar low-impact, high-energy, music driven, choreographed fitness classes designed for active older adults and beginners. This role focuses on creating a welcoming, supportive environment that promotes movement, entertainment, and social connection through rhythm. 

We are looking for a commitment of one weekday morning.  Additional classes could be added in the future. 

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging, low-impact group fitness classes (e.g., Zumba Gold, low-impact dance fitness, chair-assisted fitness, or similar)


• Provide movement options and modifications to meet varied ability levels


• Create a positive, inclusive class atmosphere for participants of all fitness backgrounds


• Monitor participant safety and respond appropriately to individual needs


• Communicate with recreation staff regarding attendance, equipment, and program needs

Qualifications

• Current group fitness certification (Zumba Gold, AFAA, ACE, SilverSneakers, or similar) preferred


• Experience teaching older adults, beginners, or special populations strongly preferred


• Knowledge of low-impact movement and exercise modifications


• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)


• Friendly, encouraging teaching style with strong interpersonal skills
