Position Overview

The Bureau of Disability Determination Services is seeking to hire an account clerk perform clerical work in the Fiscal Control area. This position performs routine and repetitive data entry which is limited in variety and controlled by established work procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Inputs Client Payment System (CPS) documents for Bureau of Disability Determination Services (BODS) Fiscal.
  2. Using a calculator, adds up the documents input into CPS.
  3. Sorts and distributes Fiscal mail.
  4. Makes storage boxes for the Fiscal area and puts documents in the appropriate boxes for each type of input.
  5. Prepares and prints W-9 letters and W-9 Correction letters.
  6. Receives incoming Fiscal phone calls from providers, claimants, and other BODS staff.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  2. Requires one (1) year of office experience, including bookkeeping work.

 

  • This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires ability to pass a federal employment background check. Individuals selected for positions with the Illinois Disability Determination Service (DDS) must go through a complete federal background investigation suitability determination by the Social Security Administration. Those individuals meeting the state requirements for employment must first complete the federal background investigation prior to their start date. This is necessary to determine whether an employee can be issued credentials in order to have access to the Social Security Disability data, records and systems. Further details will be provided during the pre-employment background check process.
  2. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
