Responsibilities
• Assists the accounting department with maintenance of the accounting system • Conducts and coordinates program and fiscal reviews for compliance with funding • Assists accounting to develop and maintain budgeting systems • Handles accounts payable, accounts receivables • Assists with auditing payroll records • Prepares program and consolidated financial statements, invoices and other reports for submission • Provides technical and supportive assistance to the accounting, billing and bookkeeping staff • Reconciliation • Performs other duties assigned by the VP/CFO in keeping with the agency’s philosophy, purpose, priorities, goals and objectives
Requirements
• Minimum of Associates Degree or higher level education • Five or years’ experience as a bookkeeper or equivalent • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting can be substituted for five years’ experience • Associates Degree in Accounting can be substituted for two years’ experience • Knowledge of automated accounting systems, word processing programs and spreadsheet applications • Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of accounting, with emphasis on governmental and non-profit accounting systems and procedures a plus
