Timken's Philadelphia Gear brand has a current opening at their headquarters in King of Prussia, PA for an Accounting Analyst . This position is responsible for accounting related activities in relation to sales tax, accounts receivable and payroll. The incumbent will support day to day transactions including but not limited to payroll calculations and reconciliations, sales tax correspondence, and journal entries. The Accounting Analyst will also file all sales tax returns, reconcile the sales tax general ledger, make adjusting entries, and prepare reconciliations for accounts receivable. This role will also support other miscellaneous functions within the sales tax, accounts receivable and payroll areas. Prior accounting experience and strong knowledge of accounting and reconciliations is required.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist with sales tax compliance and filings for state and various local jurisdictions, including reviewing orders to assess tax, ensuring customer exemption certificates are on file, compiling and reconciling monthly sales tax data to prepare and fund returns, interface with state agencies for requests and determine when to open/close state accounts, renew business licenses
• Complete monthly sales tax GL account reconciliation and adjusting entries
• Compile corporate requests for sales data
• Prepare multi-state payroll journal entries
• Compile expenses and pay details for international payroll
• Compile field service associate's hours, calculate premium pay and submit to corporate payroll
• Review and reconcile salary, hourly and union payroll for accuracy and handle discrepancies (12 payroll runs/per month).
• Payroll analysis and reporting (including headcount, OSHA, and ad hoc)
• Review weekly time management sign off log to ensure approval
• Enter Paid Time Off ¨PTO¨ requests, in addition to compiling employee PTO data to calculate vacation allotments for salary and hourly employees
• Assist with managing union payroll and maintaining compliance with the collective bargaining agreements
• Assist with payroll and accounting audits
• Accounts receivable general ledger account reconciliations
• Receive purchase orders in Epicor

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field with a Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, 4 years preferred
• Strong internal customer service skills
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Experience working in an ERP system required, knowledge and understanding of EPICOR preferred
• Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
