Accounting Assistant

Company is looking for a knowledgeable Accounting Assistant for Payroll, Accounts Payable and General bookkeeping. Must be able to use accounting software with accuracy and efficiency. Detailed and trusted with sensitive payroll & accounting information. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices. Proficient in MS Products and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. QuickBooks)

Responsibilities:

• Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records (regular hours & overtime, days off & vacation tracking)
• Perform duties associated with weekly processing of payroll for salary and hourly employees
• Maintenance of multiple databases with employee information
• Process A/P, reconcile invoices for payment to vendors and suppliers
• Admin fleet maintenance tracking software system
• Clerical and administrative functions within the accounting department
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Demonstrated Payroll Experience (2+ years)
• Able to use Microsoft Office Suite as well as various technology and web-based software
• Experience with Excel at better than average skill range (required)
• Experience with QuickBooks (preferred)
• Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction - with excellent organization, accuracy, and follow-up skills
• Time Management; able to effectively work on multiple tasks at a given time and maintain high performance on each job
