Job Description - Accounting Manager

RoadBlock Solutions , a division of  RSG International , is a leading provider and distributor of innovative safety products aimed at keeping roads, work zones, and people safe. We sell and rent a variety of road safety devices for the North American infrastructure market. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and directing the financial activities of the organization. This role involves overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure the financial health and integrity of the company. Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain Asset Depreciation Schedules for monthly accumulated depreciation of assets including additions. Will support asset tracking and CAPEX planning.  Also, must account for gain/loss on disposals
  • Facilitate the financial audit process with prompt responses to audit requests and on time completion of the final audit report.
  • Prepare annual budgets for the consolidated group of companies as well as each supporting location.
  • Oversee and manage the inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking, valuation, and reporting of inventory levels to support effective inventory control and optimization strategies.
  • Perform and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Reconcile corporate bank accounts.
  • Manage cash position of the business including daily cash reports, weekly cash forecasts and monthly borrowing base reporting and forecasts.
  • Perform Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable entry and monthly reconciliations.  
  • Lead the implementation and integration of the ERP system for accounting functions, ensuring seamless data migration, process alignment, and user training to enhance overall financial operations and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain and update parts listings in the ERP system, ensuring accurate and current information to support inventory management, procurement, and production planning.
  • Complete weekly payroll reports and monthly payroll remittances accurately and within compliance with all state and federal regulations. Ensure that all remittances are processed on time.
  • Ensure that accounting processes and documentation meets corporate governance and audit standards, safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements and to detect fraud and errors.
  • Analyze, implement, and improve policies, procedures, and controls, related to financial reporting.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive management reports, including financial statements, performance metrics, and variance analyses, to provide senior leadership with clear and actionable insights into the company's financial health.
  • Foster positive relationships with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local financial regulations and ensure compliance with tax laws, reporting requirements, and other financial obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • CPA (or equivalent) desired but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a multi-company and/or multi-divisional environment.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Previous experience implementing new software solutions is an asset.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
