Accounting Manager, Digital Accounting Team

Amazon’s Digital Accounting team supports diverse customer offerings including Amazon’s video game businesses, as well as the Audible and Twitch subsidiaries. The digital accounting team is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the accounting for its dynamic and growing digital businesses. This role will work across the broader Digital accounting team and Devices and Services team to lead management of various aspects of accounting month-end close, controllership initiatives, and new projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and experience operating in a complex, high-growth stage, multi-disciplinary organization. The candidate will work closely with members of cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver operationalization of complex accounting projects. The candidate will also have technical accounting experience in reviewing contracts and assessing the accounting treatment in accordance with Amazon Accounting Policy and US GAAP. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize. Key job responsibilities
• Supporting various aspects of our accounting month-end close and financial reporting process.
• Ability to develop and provide accounting requirements to operationalize complex accounting concepts.
• Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
• Strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.
• Ability to develop partnerships between cross functional stakeholders.
• Research, conclude and document/write technical accounting position papers.
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
