Job Description - Accounts receivable analyst

The Accounts Receivable Analyst will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our company by ensuring that our accounts receivable processes are efficient and accurate. This position involves monitoring and managing customer accounts, analyzing receivable data, and working closely with other departments to resolve payment issues and improve cash flow. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time permanent role and is 5 days in office in Midtown NYC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable Management:
  • Process and manage customer invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all receivable transactions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, collections, and aging.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounts receivable policies and procedures.
  • Customer Relations:
  • Communicate with customers regarding their accounts, resolving any billing or payment issues.
  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address customer concerns and ensure timely payments.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the accounts receivable process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems and technologies to streamline accounts receivable operations.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain thorough and organized documentation for all accounts receivable activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software SAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
