Automotive Accounting

Job Summary: Independence Mazda in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking an experienced and highly organized individual for the role of Automotive Accounting. This is a full-time, individual contributor position in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a passion for the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, analyzing financial data, and providing support to the dealership's finance team. Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, inventory, and dealership expenses
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
• Monitor and reconcile bank statements, ensuring accurate and timely transactions
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Provide financial data and analysis to support the dealership's finance team and management
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, including negotiating terms and handling discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with all financial policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
• Conduct periodic audits of financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness

Requirements:

• Recommended of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the automotive industry
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience with dealership accounting and the Reynolds & Reynolds system is a plus
