Image Review Quality Specialist

Shifts available: Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Saturday *Shift details will be discussed during the interview process. Definition and Examples of Work Review images of license plates previously rejected by the double-blind process. Make corrections to transactions based on photographic evidence to assign the correct license plate information. View confidential registered vehicle owner information and assign to a toll account. Perform quality control checks, as a skilled specialist, against previously viewed and processed violation or image-based toll accounts. Serve as the KTA SME and work closely with supervisor to provide evidence of fact regarding toll charges based on license plate images and/or vehicle make/model. Ability to quickly recognize fraudulent license plates, articulate facts regarding travel patterns and communicate with appropriate KTA or law enforcement entities. Ability to accurately investigate license plates and vehicle makes/models using approved software/image databases to correctly identify new license plate and vehicle designs from the U.S. and other countries. As needed to clear backlogs, review images processed by roadside toll collection system while maintaining a high level of production (quality and quantity). Maintain confidentiality of information within the department. Additional duties may be assigned as business needs require, including training of junior staff or other KTA department personnel. Latitude and Impact of Position This position works independently to accomplish tasks and will be asked to work as part of a team to provide input and problem solving to complete tasks. Decision making is typically done independently within established company guidelines in regard to decisions affecting the individual's work tasks. Successful and efficient completion of job tasks impacts revenue generation (receivables). Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of the general work environment for the position. QUALIFICATION Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to recall from memory short sequences of numbers and letters, including unique visual details. Ability to quickly identify problems or issues and recommend solutions. Effective professional communication, both orally and written. Experience with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, Windows/iOS computers and peripheral equipment. Ability and willingness to adopt new technologies and procedures quickly. Collaborative team-oriented attitude using remote technology (i.e., MS Teams, Cisco Jabber, etc.) An understanding that this position directly affects the positive relationship that KTA has with our customer. Failure to perform this position correctly and efficiently will erode customer trust. Ability to work independently in a quiet environment to avoid distracting others. Ability to accurately focus on repetitive, monotonous work for long periods of time. Continuous learning of new license plate designs to maintain a high level of expertise. A high level of personal integrity. Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills System knowledge of the turnpike (to be learned on the job). Knowledge of and ability to use computer keyboard shortcuts to increase work efficiency. A working knowledge of cashless tolling, specifically how image-based tolling directly impacts the business function of the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Knowledge of vehicle makes, models and configurations including passenger, recreational and commercial vehicles. Prior experience identifying license plate configurations from all U.S. states, Mexico states, Canadian provinces and government entities including color and font. Experience can include law enforcement, government, commercial or private occupations providing articulatable transferrable skills. Prior relationships with KDOR and other entities to assist KTA in maintaining a strong working partnership. Ability to obtain and promote partnerships internally and externally. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to demonstrate and prove a high level of attention to detail and memory recall uniquely identifying characteristics of vehicles and/or license plates. Reliable transportation to get to/from work site. Ability to present themselves in business attire as needed to testify as a SME in a legal proceeding on behalf of KTA. This position will be required to articulate facts from memory and must demonstrate a deep knowledge of legal license plate designs and vehicle makes/models.
