Position Overview
The Mobile Crane Technician is responsible for the diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining of mobile cranes at customer job sites and the branch shop. The technician should be experienced in crane repairs, including working with Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Structural components and have a strong understanding of OSHA, OEM, PLC, Motor Control, and Inspection processes. The technician will work closely with other shop and field technicians to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mobile cranes, boom trucks, crawler cranes, and other heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on cranes to ensure safe and reliable operations
- Work with the shop and parts departments to order parts and ensure timely repairs
- Complete required paperwork, including work orders, timesheets, and inspection forms
- Work with the Service Manager to identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and ensure customer job sites and workers are safe from harm
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing cranes
- Strong understanding of Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Structural components
- Knowledge of OSHA, OEM, PLC, Motor Control, and Inspection processes
- NCCCO certification preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
