Job Description - Paratransit Reservationist

Paratransit Reservationist Location Spokane, WA (West Central area) :

At Spokane Transit our high performing Paratransit Reservationists are dedicated, innovative, professional and provide excellent customer service. We are currently looking for another high performing team member. If you are well known for providing stellar customer service and have a passion for helping people with disabilities and the elderly, then we encourage you to apply to join our Reservationist team!

As a Reservationist you will provide timely, accurate, and courteous customer service to Spokane County's vulnerable adult population. You will receive and respond to telephone, TDD, email or faxed trip requests. You will successfully negotiate trip times with customers as needed to help balance Paratransit service supply and demand. As you maintain efficiency and effectiveness of STA's Paratransit services you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customers have access to their community and the resources they rely upon.

Examples of Duties

  • Receive and respond to trip requests
  • Screen and forward incoming phone calls as needed
  • Utilize scheduling software
  • Provide information to clients about Paratransit services
  • Negotiate available times for rides
  • Accurately enter customer requests and assign them to routes
  • Cancel or modify customer trips as needed
  • Help resolve customer issues or complaints

Training and ExperienceOne year of recent experience as a telephone operator or customer service/assistance representative; or one year ofwork experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position. High school level education orequivalent.

Physical RequirementsThe physical activity of this position requires the ability to push, pull, reach, finger, and talk. Must be able to hear wellenough, with or without correction, to receive detailed information through oral communication. Must have visualacuity to determine color, depth and field of vision.

Computer SkillsMust possess basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
