This role serves as a conduit between our corporate finance team and the operations of the F&V companies. As a Project Accountant you will be on the front lines, managing financial information and accounting duties for specific projects while also supporting the financial operations of the company. The immediate roles and responsibilities include:

• Perform financial analysis on project profitability, presenting to senior management.
• Understand and assist with percent completion/WIP revenue recognition.
• Maintain key metrics for the construction business and present monthly to senior leadership.
• Post all transactions in Engineering software daily.
• Track project spend against budget and ensure compliance with approved budgeted amounts.
• Process all accounts receivables and progress billings and process all accounts payable and payments as received.
• Provide assistance in research of any new procedures as needed for cost effective analysis.
• Administer Engineering software, maintaining accurate data and reporting.
• Obtain and manage COI’s from subcontractors & suppliers.
• Manage Lien Waivers and Releases for all subcontractors.
• Set up vendors and subcontractors in system; ensure maintenance of current records.
• Keep team informed of any problems or inadequacies noted in day-to-day business operations.
• Review project files for completeness of required information.

• Project analysis: The ability to analyze project data and extract insights that inform decision-making and support project profitability.
• Attention to detail: The ability to maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with company standards, and identify discrepancies or errors.
• Communication skills: The ability to communicate complex project information and collaborate effectively with project managers and other departments.
• Accounting software proficiency: The ability to use accounting software to perform accounting tasks efficiently and effectively, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciling accounts.

Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Background in an engineering or construction firm strongly desired

Computer Skills:

• Highly proficient in Windows OS, Microsoft office applications and Access is essential.
• Experience with Deltek Vision strongly desired.
