Overview of Position:
The Rail Key Account Manager is responsible for expanding the company’s rail customer base while retaining and supporting current rail accounts. They will use prospecting and networking strategies to reach key decision makers to introduce company products. Their goal is to bring on new rail accounts and achieve brand awareness throughout the Industry. As a Rail Key Account Manager, you will:
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat rail accounts.
  • Log all activity into CRM.
  • Disciplined in managing pipeline.
  • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer's specific needs.
  • Qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities.
  • Call on rail accounts that can utilize our products.
  • Manage the business as if it was your own – “entrepreneurial mind-set”
  • Develop business relationships at all levels of the client organization.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to set tactical and strategic plans.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives and revenue quotas, maintaining existing and building new revenue within assigned key market.
  • Maintain contact with the customer, resolve problems, and seek additional opportunities to meet needs.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years in rail industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience is preferred.
  • Extensive work experience in selling on value.
  • Ability to rise to the challenge and achieve desired sales goals in a highly competitive market. 
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence.
  • Coachable & ability to run a disciplined sales process.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Travel Required:
  • 50-70%, occasionally for extended periods.
