Senior Platform Engineer Overview


As a member of the Software Defined Networking team, you will own and deliver the operational support to bring our network to the next level. As a "militantly automated" team, we work in source control and let pipelines drive our work. We believe in configuration modeling and defining standards via automation so the tooling can do the heavy lifting for us. You will participate on a high performing team that designs, builds, and runs world-class and leading-edge networking technology that enables our private cloud.


Role:

• Responsible for day to day operation of the Network as a Service product including DevOps, infrastructure changes, monitoring, and hands on duties
• Work closely with our customers to quickly identify and resolve issues
• Maintain our library of system support run books
• Represent our team across the enterprise as we play our part in building new data centers
• Work with partners and external vendors to ensure all platform needs are addressed
• Work across internal IT teams to untangle complex issues
• Collaborate with other software / platform engineers within our team to improve our build / run posture.
• Manage system configurations and infrastructure using tools such as Chef, Jenkins and Terraform
• Build utilities to reduce toil and streamline platform maintenance

• Is familiar with supporting complex systems
• Hands on experience with CI/CD topics and development methodologies including pipelines, pull requests, git, command line, etc
• Displays willingness and aptitude to learn
• Has a proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Can produce quality technical documentation
• Has good communication skills and is eager to work on an awesome team
• Has an interest in building Software Engineering skills
• Familiar with programming languages like Go or Python

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. O'Fallon, Missouri: $94,000 - $157,000 USD
