Senior Staff Accountant

Our client in the real estate industry is looking to bring on a full time Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.

Job Duties

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Participate in audits and support the preparation of audit schedules and documentation
• Review Construction Invoices/Code/Post to GL
• Review/Process Broker Commissions and Journal Entries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of financial data and resolve any discrepancies
• Reconcile GL Accounts/Enter Month End Adjustments, including Workers Comp Adjustments
• Assist controller on ad hoc projects and custom reports
• Reconcile Mortgage Principle/Interest

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance required or equivalent
• Real estate/property management experience a plus!
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, 10-key (Pivot tables & Yardi Voyager Commercial experience a plus)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with an emphasis on details
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under deadlines
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
• Work proficiently with minimal supervision
