Job Description - Senior Staff Accountant-Palm Beach Gardens

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules.
  • Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Review, maintain and record lease activity in accordance with company policy and IFRS 16 in the financial and lease management systems and submit monthly rent payments for processing.
  • Review, maintain, record and reconcile monthly CAM charges and true-ups and submit for payment processing.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Maintain fixed assets and related entries.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and cash reconciliations as assigned.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS principles.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
  • Hands-on experience with Accounting software packages (i.e. Business Central, etc.);
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLookups, formulas, and pivot tables;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Multi-location experience required.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Experience with shared services preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
