ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules.
- Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
- Review, maintain and record lease activity in accordance with company policy and IFRS 16 in the financial and lease management systems and submit monthly rent payments for processing.
- Review, maintain, record and reconcile monthly CAM charges and true-ups and submit for payment processing.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintain fixed assets and related entries.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and cash reconciliations as assigned.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS principles.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
- Hands-on experience with Accounting software packages (i.e. Business Central, etc.);
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLookups, formulas, and pivot tables;
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Multi-location experience required.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Experience with shared services preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
