Staff Accountant

Midwest Remediation is hiring a Staff Account as a Full-Time job in Indianapolis, IN.  
 
As a Staff Account, you must be a self-starter, have exceptional communication skills, possess strong organizational skills. You must have the ability to maintain detailed records, strive for continuous improvement of existing policies and procedures and can manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Family-owned and operated since 1989, Midwest Remediation is central Indiana's trusted leader in restoration and clean-up. We help families and businesses recover from disastrous situations with our water and fire damage restoration, mold removal, and disaster and trauma cleanup services. Key Responsibilities:  

• Manage accounts payable inbox, invoice approval routing and vendor inquiries for all divisions and portfolio companies.
• Accurately record and post vendor invoices and payments.
• Maintain accounts payable files and records.
• Review accounts payable balances and resolve inconsistencies.
• Process and post daily billings and cash receipts for portfolio companies.
• Reconcile daily bank activity to the general ledger.
• Manage corporate credit card programs:  Lowes, Home Depot, Ramp, Amazon, fuel programs.
• Perform user administration as needed.
• Post transactions to the general ledger.
• Process weekly and monthly payments.
• Integrate QuickBooks into a new accounting platform, which will include transferring and reconciling financial data for multiple divisions in multiple ongoing stages.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management, including ad hoc reporting.

Job Qualifications: 

• BS degree in accounting or finance
• Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
• Excellent oral, written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fluid and changing work environment.
• Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, with intermediate level proficiency in Excel
• Physical abilities - prolonged use of a computer, repetitive hand motions
