Job Description - Staff Accountant - Urgent Position

Position Summary:

Love Wellness is seeking an energetic and driven Staff Accountant to join its Accounting team based in New York City. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in the accounting function and make an immediate impact. The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will perform various accounting and finance functions, including account reconciliations, booking journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, assisting in the monthly-close process, and providing ad hoc analysis as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Month-end close including the preparation of journal entries, month-end reports, and account reconciliations
  • Own the accounts payable function, which includes reviewing and processing high volume of invoices
  • Own the accounts receivable function, which includes creating a high volume of invoices in Quickbooks Online, receiving payments, and monitoring collections
  • Rigorously manage all disputes and chargebacks
  • Communicate with customers to address any past due invoices and provide status updates to management
  • Book and reconcile corporate credit card activity
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
  • Manage tax payments 
  • Support annual audit requests
  • Expense report administration
  • Assist with documenting processes and procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform other ad hoc duties and reporting as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be in the NYC area 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1+ years of general accounting experience
  • Experience working with various systems (Quickbooks Online and Bill.com is a plus)
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

 

Expected salary for the role will be between $55,000 and $60,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis.
