The Staff Accountant is a hybrid work role, meaning employees work both remotely and in the office. The office is located in our Nova Place/Allegheny Center Mall headquarters on Pittsburghs North Shore. Safe and secure parking is provided for our employees.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Manage month-end closing procedures across revenue and expense-related categories including recording journal entries

• Calculate and record various month-end accruals

• Own and manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations

• Complete and file property tax returns and handle related accounting

• Collaborate with the Purchasing and AP teams to facilitate the purchasing and invoicing process

• Collaborate with the Billing and Collections teams to ensure proper revenue recognition

• Oversee the accounting of fixed assets including routine fixed asset audits

• Manage unclaimed property and related filings

• Complete payroll-related GL functions

• Assist in the annual external audit process

• Participate in other areas, including sales and use taxes, treasury-related functions, and bank reconciliations

  Qualifications needed for the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

• Previous work history in accounting and/or in a professional work environment is highly preferred

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly skilled with MS Excel

• Knowledge with Sage Intacct is a plus but not required

• Strong attention to detail is crucial

• Strong time-management is crucial

• Organized and a strong communicator, both verbal and written

• Mature understanding of confidentiality and discretion with company financial information

• Proactive self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
