Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position

This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The ideal candidate will be located in or near Waterloo, IA. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

​​​​​​As a Supplier Quality Engineer for John Deere Power Systems located in Waterloo, IA, you will: 

• Provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing teams, and manufacturing organizations to assure John Deere product quality meets the customers expectations.
• Responsible for working with suppliers to investigate product quality problems, determine root cause, analyze data, and ensure implementation of corrective actions in both PDP and OFP.
• Lead Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), support design reviews and print reviews of new and revised products, review and approve PPAPs.
• Audit and lead consistent assessment of suppliers quality systems.

What Skills You Need

• Two or more years of experience in drawing interpretation, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing
• Two years of experience or more in usage of standard quality tools such as Containment, FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and Root Cause Analysis
• Two or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: product engineering, supply management, quality, or manufacturing operations
• At least two years of demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without authority
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

• Ability to work independently, to prioritize projects, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Practical experience with engine components and manufacturing
• Auditing experience in PVA or JDS-G223
• Unit Quality Experience as a QE or SQE
• Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline
