Tax Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, planning, and compliance for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying tax-saving opportunities and ensuring adherence to the latest tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
• Conduct thorough tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
• Assist clients with tax audits, correspondence, and other tax-related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and organized client records and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to client financial management.
• Utilize tax software and technology tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 
• CPA or EA required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance.
• Proficient in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Lacerte, UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
