Under the general supervision of the Assistant Branch Chief (Accounting Administrator II) for the Accounting Services Branch (ASB), the incumbent plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the operations and accounting activities of the Cash Receipts Unit for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). This position manages and supervises staff within the Cash Receipts Unit which includes: preparation of bank reconciliation, uncleared collections reconciliation, Automated License Data System (ALDS), daily deposits, wire transfers, environmental filing fees, buybacks, Accounts Receivable (AR) Upload, corrections and mitigation account set up; provides training and guidance to program staff; attend meetings representing the Branch; activity participate in review, analysis and audit of Fish Landing records; researches and resolves the most complex issues regarding cash receipts; reviews and drafts responses to audit reports and findings; develops and implements audit recommendations; review/approve the dissemination of new procedures and policies to affected Programs/Divisions; reviews legislation for fiscal impact/requirements and provides analysis and recommendations regarding cash receipts area.
Headquartered in our new high-rise building located in downtown Sacramento, this position has the opportunity of being eligible for remote centered hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. The new Natural Resources Building is right next to Light Rail for an easy commute and features ergonomic furniture, panoramic downtown views, a free employee gym, a cafeteria and bodega, and adjacent childcare.

Working Conditions
This position is located in a high-rise building. Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods. Daily use a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone; Standard office environment. Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and hearings via private or public transportation. Work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Time off may not be granted during the year-end Financial Statement period.
