Job Description - Adjunct Faculty - Pharmacy Law

Job DescriptionThe School of Pharmacy seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Pharmacy Law course in the accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program for the Manchester campus. The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching state specific pharmacy law material to students enrolled in the PharmD program. Deliver didactic instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a ‘blended’ format) in the Pharmacy Law course specifically for New Hampshire pharmacy state laws.Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.Support incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with studentsAdvises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanismsProvides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessmentProviding guidance to individual students within the course.Accurately and objectively assesses students’ work.Answering student questions about grades and performance during scheduled review sessions.Assist with the proctoring of examinations. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor Requirements Required: Minimum of B.S. in PharmacyMinimum of 5 years of work experience as a licensed pharmacist in the state of New Hampshire.Active New Hampshire pharmacy license that is in good standing with the Board of PharmacyKnowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmacy lawComfort working with computerized learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard)Good communication and teaching skillsCommitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student successDemonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environmentExcellent organizational and communication skillsMust be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals) Strongly Preferred: Previous experience in community practice in New Hampshire or well versed in New Hampshire legislation and policies regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of New Hampshire.Previous experience working at the Board of Pharmacy is highly desirable.Experience working as a licensed pharmacist in the U.S. within the last 5 yearsHigher education teaching experience Adjunct faculty are asked to commit to teaching the latter half of the fall semester once weekly after the completion of federal laws. The semester starts September 3 th and ends December 20 th . State law in-class sessions typically begin during week 7 of the semester.Classes are held once weekly in-person and on campus presence is required.Adjunct is responsible for writing exam questions for material delivered and proctoring examinations including the final examination.
