St. Thecla Catholic School office is looking for a part-time administrative assistant to join our school. This position is central to the effective operation of the school. The administrative assistant provides secretarial and clerical support for the school office operations.
Basic Qualifications:
Desire to serve Christ in the Catholic Church.
Positive Attitude
Team player
Experience working with children
Familiarity and competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher.
Detail-oriented
Willingness to learn computer software programs
Flexible
Essential duties and tasks include but are not limited to:
Demonstrates professional, consistently welcoming, and joyful conduct in communications and interactions with all constituents and community members
Carries out general clerical duties: type, file, copy, and fax,
Answer and direct phone calls to the school and take messages
Manage staff records – file and organize. Ensure absolute confidentiality of information, files, and records.
Screen students’ health complaints and administer basic first-aid and basic care for students
Additional responsibilities as dictated by the pastor or principal
Fundamental skills include but are not limited to:
Good organizational, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with large groups of people, including parents, staff, and parish personnel
Highly developed computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), and FACTS
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to convey the mission of St. Thecla Catholic School
Must be present at required school meetings and functions.
Must have a strong commitment to Catholic education and model behavior in accordance with St. Thecla Catholic School's mission and philosophy.
Understand and abide by the Archdiocese of Detroit contract for employment and the specifications it contains regarding the expectations of a Catholic school employee.
Must pass a criminal background check
Must take Protecting God’s Children and other school training.
The pay rate is determined by the Principal/Pastor.
