The USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is seeking an Administrative Budget Assistant to join its team!

Our Family Caregiver Support program is rapidly growing, and we need superstars to join our current dynamic team. This is a full-time hourly position that will require substantial commitment and flexibility. The work schedule varies from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and some weekend work as needed. The office location will be on the University Park Campus:

The Administrative Budget Assistant will provide support with all financial activities related to the program. As part of the administrative team, the Administrative Budget Assistant will be responsible for all steps necessary to process outgoing payments on behalf of the department. The candidate will also prepare reimbursement reports and ensure expenditures are aligned with funds available, monitor subcontracts with other agencies as needed.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to processing purchase orders, invoices, check requests, budget preparation, and projection, monitoring payroll activity, reconciling expenditures, preparing vendor contracts, assisting with arranging services with vendors, monthly data entry related to client activities, producing reimbursement & productivity reports.

Our ideal candidate will have working knowledge of budget preparation, accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliation, data entry and tracking, and overall office administration. Proficiency in Excel is required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Work schedule M-F 8:30-5:00 pm.
  • May require off-campus travel to meetings.
  • In office 5 days a week

This position is funded by a research contract/grant and may be funded by a subsequent contract/grant. Accordingly, your position is contingent upon receipt of the necessary funding from this or any subsequent contract/grant to continue employment.

The hourly rate range for this position is $ 22.92 -$25.12. Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 3 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Secretarial, clerical or administrative experience including some budget, financial or payroll experience.
