Job Description - Administrative Coordinator III

Location: Greeneville, SC (some travel to the Spartanburg, SC location will be required)
Position: Plant Administrator Coordinator
Wage: $21.12/hr. *overtime may be required.
Shift: 1st- 7:30 am -4:00 pm. Monday -Friday

While reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Administrator Coordinator will manage various administrative functions to support operations and accounting. Functions will include payroll entry and reconciliation, purchasing materials and supplies, reconciling inventory and purchases and various other reporting and support activities.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the on boarding and orientation of new employees and maintains employee records.
  • Maintains plant visitor log, ensuring visitors receive visitor safety orientation and are vetted prior to admittance.
  • Work with HR to address employee concerns and issues and assist employees during “Open Enrollment” for benefits.
  • Responsible for pulling together and preparing the summary information for accounting and the related month end closing process.
  • Responsible for verifying paper receipt reconciliation and adjusting as needed prior to month end.
  • Maintains hourly payroll system and assists in payroll preparation by providing relevant data for absences, bonuses, and leaves.
  • Daily upkeep of employee attendance records, providing supervisors a recap when employee reaches and any of the disciplinary levels per attendance policy.
  • Manages replenishment (including ordering and receiving) system for supplies, orders material and supplies as needed through Sonoco purchasing systems (currently Coupa, Oracle and occasionally direct orders). Reconciles all purchases as outlined in Sonoco purchasing guidelines.
  • Weighs all incoming recyclable materials. Will be trained in commodities and will need to obtain understanding of scale operation.
  • Maintains adequate supply of employee personal protective equipment.
  • Prepares monthly and annual reports and helps accountants in preparing analyses and reports on production performance, payroll, inventory, month-end closing, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining plant employees’ filing and record keeping systems. This includes personnel, safety, training, quality records.
  • Responsible for all mail/fax/ phone messages distribution within the department.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the bulletin boards within the department and implementing new procedures as required by corporate or division staff.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have an Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Have at least 2 years of related job experience, including purchasing and payroll processing.
  • Have the drive and curiosity to obtain working knowledge of Sonoco systems and procedures.
  • Are reliable, committed, and have a great work ethic.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are proficient and computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel (Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, UKG (Kronos), Workday, Oracle and Coupa.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and current insurance on vehicle to drive between locations. Employee will be reimbursed for mileage.
  • Able to work quickly and prioritize while maintaining a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
