What You'll Do:



Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol

Report In Location - 3201 N Main Street, Findlay 45840


Provides secretarial assistance to District Licensing & Commercial Standards (LCS) staff by completing routine administrative tasks (i.e., maintain computerized reports & databases) (e.g., payroll, criminal cases, equipment & supplies, requisitions & delivery, vehicle repairs, administrative investigations, training records, schedule appointments); Drafts, produces, formats, or assists in formatting all types of correspondence and may sign (e.g., memos, policies, manuals, letters, new releases, administrative action reports, background investigations, personnel records & evaluations, leave requests, associated benefit forms, schedules, etc.); Provides orientation & training to others as needed.

Performs related clerical tasks (e.g., answers telephone, takes messages, screens & directs calls for the high number of salvage related calls; maintains filing; maintains inventory of office supplies & requisitions when needed; greets visitors & directs them to the appropriate staff officer or directly assists them; sorts & distributes mail).

Enters & verifies payroll totals, leave & overtime claimed against the daily schedule & written log of activity prior to computer entry, makes computer entries & makes modifications under supervisory direction; Receives invoices (e.g., date stamps, verify charges, records in account book for future payment); Maintains appropriate records for supplies (e.g., gasoline, rental agreements, phone utilities, dry cleaning, car maintenance, etc.); Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications


1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications. For positions requiring technical terminology, applicants must also have 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in relevant technical terminology.
