How We LEAD:
As part of the Capitol CMG Publishing team, this Royalty Tracking and Analytics Administrator role will support the publishing Data Analytics and Copyright teams in collecting and managing data, analyzing royalty and income trends, and researching data discrepancies across multiple data sets and revenue sources. The applicant should possess an innate curiosity and desire for accuracy. Strong analytical skills are a must, and familiarity with Excel, SQL, and data organization are a plus.
How You'll CREATE:
Assist with analysis of income and royalty trends from digital accounts, mechanical societies, Performing Rights Organizations, sub-publishers, and other income sources
Provide research and data management support to the Data Analytics and Copyright teams
Investigate discrepancies in royalty earnings and song metadata
Manage and regularly audit ISRC database
Research, identify, and chase any outstanding royalties due on licensed or un-licensed song uses
Provide custom reporting and analysis to the CCMG Publishing team
Audit unprocessed royalties and provide guidance to Royalties team on how to process royalty payments as needed
Respond to royalty inquiries from writers and partners in a timely manner with a customer service mindset
Process adjustments to royalty postings as needed
Calculate advances due to writers as needed
Other duties as assigned
Bring Your VIBE:
1-3 years relevant music industry, finance, or data analytics experience
General knowledge of music publishing, copyright, and royalties
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience organizing and managing large databases
Familiarity with SQL or other coding languages a plus
Natural curiosity and ability to recognize data discrepancies
Strong analytical and research skills
Strong communication skills
