Purpose:
As the Academic Coordinator, you will ensure One-Year Masters program candidates receive a fair, equitable and inclusive evaluation. You will help shape the future of the programs, by evaluating candidates and use your experiences to shape process improvement and contribute to the admissions strategy employed within the department. You will report directly to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

Responsibilities*

Admissions Support (70%)

  • Participate in the full cycle assessment of application and enrollment policies and procedures, partnering with the Ross Admissions and the One-Year Master's Programs Director of Admissions, Managing Director, and Associate Dean.
  • Work with Ross Admissions to streamline and manage the evaluation of student applications across One-Year Master's Programs.
  • Manage student application data, creating and running regular reports to provide application and enrollment statistics.
  • Work with application evaluation teams across all One-Year Master's Programs ensuring consistency in evaluations and entry of assessments.
  • Conduct admissions interviews, working with interview teams.
  • Work with the Director of Admissions to communicate admissions decisions to students enrolled in all One-Year Master's Programs.
  • Assist the Director of Admissions with yield-generating communication and events.
  • Work with the Student Success Advisors in the One-Year Master's Programs to ensure enrollment and registration information is made available to students as enrollment deposits are paid.
  • Collaborate with Ross Admissions to test and update One-Year Master's Program applications and application-related correspondence.
  • Coordinate with Ross Marketing and Communications to execute MATR/Non MATR surveys, tracking prospective student and applicant decision influencers.
  • Partner with Admissions Advisors to communicate with students who have started their applications, inquiring about intent to submit and keeping them updated on their evaluation status.
  • Assist the Admissions Advisors with recruiting and prospective student advising in their absence.

    Scholarship Administration (20%)

    • Support the Director of Admissions in the assessment of applicants for scholarship and Graduate Student Staff Assistant opportunities.
    • Partner with the Director of Admissions to maintain student scholarship and Graduate Student Staff Assistant information annually.
    • Engage with the Ross Finance and scholarship accounting managers regarding available funding to determine annual scholarship availability.
    • Work with the Director of Admissions, Managing Director, and Ross HR to select and hire Graduate Student Staff Assistants.

      General Administration (10%)

      • Maintain relationships with Ross Admissions, Ross IT, the Salesforce implementation group and key faculty, keeping them updated on program news and advancements.
      • You will collaborate with educational partners and represent the Ross School of Business and the University of Michigan.
      • Create and maintain process documents and program-wide calendars to ensure consistent knowledge and execution within the office.
      • Help execute programs and events.
      • Help create the Office's budget.
      • Conduct research and benchmarking for special projects.
      • Contribute to Master's programs websites and printed collateral regarding updated and new content, based on student reaction and peer and market analysis of best practices.
      • Build trusting partnerships across the school, learning and creating impactful experiences.

      Required Qualifications*

      • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Experience working within higher education or business/corporate community.
      • Experience delivering presentations to prospective students and others.
      • Experience in full cycle strategic planning.
      • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

      Additional Information

      The general posting range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. You can expect to be paid a great compensation package. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor agreement and transparency throughout the recruiting process. Selected candidates whose start date is after April 1st will be eligible for the annual salary program in September 2025, if offered.
