Asphalt Paving Laborer

Job Description

Job Summary:

Myrl & Roy’s Paving Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of L.G. Everist, Inc., has been a part of the Sioux Falls construction community for over 60 years.  We are currently looking for an Asphalt Paving Laborer to join our growing team.  This position will perform tasks involving physical labor to assist in the paving process in parking lots and roadways.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Does not have any direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Rake and shovel hot mix asphalt to distribute for paving as needed.
• Operate a plate packer to achieve compaction in areas the roller cannot.
• Assist in equipment cleanup.
• Assist foreman in setting string line and placing paint marks to aid in the paving process.
• Follow all established company safety requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in asphalt paving is a plus.
• High attention to detail.
• Good work attendance.
• Must be able to work as a member of a team safely and successfully.
• Driver’s license with preference for CDL.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. 

Physical Requirements:

Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift and walk for long durations.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
