Position Summary:
Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Assistant Director of Event Planning. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of the Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick, the Assistant Director of Event Planning will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, budgeting and executing a wide range of strategic events, including conferences, symposiums, seminars, program launches, dinners, graduations, and convocations for all the departments and units under the Rutgers Business School, and its corporate partners and affiliates for domestic, international, on campus and off-campus programs. This position will work closely with our department chairs and directors, corporate sponsors, and their representatives to ensure that each event/program launches seamlessly, aligns with the brand, and is delivered with the utmost quality, creativity, and impact, exceeding all expectations. The incumbent will be required to collaborate with Events and Conference Services on any joint initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with Newark campus initiatives, organizational priorities, and strategic objectives.
