Athletic Trainer Oakland University

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for assisting in the administration of a sound sports medicine program. Practice athletic training competently including but not limited to injury/illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care of and rehabilitation/reconditioning of student athletes suffering from illness or injury. Keep accurate records of all treatments of athletic injuries; maintain an organized and functional athletic training room.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Current National Athletic Trainer's Board of Certification ( NATABOC ) and CPR / AED certifications and eligibility for Michigan state licensure required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid vehicle operator's license and a driving record acceptable for coverage by the university's insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience in an independent setting.
• Post graduate Athletic Training experience at the NCAA / NAIA level – highly preferred.
• Master's Degree in Athletic Training.
• Knowledge of EMR software.
