Job Description - Benefits Coordinator

Job Description



The  Benefits Coordinator  will assist employees, mostly by phone or email, with benefits enrollment and questions, assist with the administration of all benefits (for example: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k)), along with maintaining employee database and files. The Benefits Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Benefits and will continually provide professional guest service to all employees and vendors.

Job Responsibilities : 

  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Inputs employee data into the system as needed.
  • Audits information related to Benefits matters.
  • Scanning and filing of employee benefits records
  • Ensures records are stored appropriately
  • Maintains thorough and complete case file notes
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
  • Assists with the open enrollment process
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year clerical experience in a high volume office environment is preferred, but not required
  • Previous Benefits experience is preferred, but not required
  • Oracle/PeopleSoft experience is preferred, but not required
  • Must be a self-starter and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs including word, excel, power point and database programs
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and ethical boundaries with regard to guidelines, supervision and professional consultation
  • Exposure to sensitive information and must use considerable tact, diplomacy and judgment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to think dynamically
  • Requires a willingness to work beyond the boundaries of an average work day
  • Must be able to work proficiently with deadlines and disciplined to work without constant guidance and supervision
  • Must possess a positive, “whatever it takes” attitude
  • Must have an open mind and willingness to learn new processes, concepts, and ways of approaching analysis
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must be able to obtain any necessary work cards for the position prior to start and maintain those cards during the course of employment (work cards may include Gaming registration and drivers’ license)
