With minimal supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity at Michigan Medicine. This is an afternoon shift position, with the primary responsibility being preventative maintenance and repairs in UH (University Hospital), CVC (Cardiovascular Center), and CW (Children and Women) ORs (Operating Room) . Equipment responsibilities include OR tables and lights, infusion pumps, Bair huggers, t-pumps, exercise equipment, beds, patient monitoring systems, TV systems, and other equipment as assigned.
Work performed is documented in the work order database system called AIMS. Additional duties include identifying and preparing parts and materials necessary for repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned devices. Cross-training for other Biomedical Engineering Technicians for expanded backup support is also required. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The primary job site is at the Michigan Medicine main campus. Technicians must have a valid Michigan driver's license and be able to drive a motor vehicle.

Paygrade: B2
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the U-M Skilled Trades Union, Inc., which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
