Job Description - Border Security Logistics and Sustainment Team Lead

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.

 

We have a near-term need for a Logistics and Sustainment Team Lead to provide onsite support in Washington, DC.

The Team Lead will oversee all logistics and sustainment (L&S) support activities on the program. The contractor team provides management and oversight of logistics and sustainment requirements for all CBP acquisition programs. The team develops and implements life-cycle sustainment requirements for new technology programs; provides for the management and oversight of systems in the support phase of the system lifecycle; and develops tools and business processes focused on enhancing system performance and reducing system life-cycle costs. This includes managing c ollaboration with the DHS customer and its internal/external stakeholders to facilitate L&S activity coordination throughout the enterprise. The candidate will provide oversight of activities related to: l ifecycle logistics policy development; l ogistics and sustainment planning and implementation support to include cost-wise readiness implementation and execution support; i ndependent logistics assessment support; l ifecycle logistics management workforce development support; l ogistics and sustainment support for planned and deployed systems; a sset management and training support; and w arehouse support and management.

Required:

  • Active Secret clearance with an ability to obtain a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Background Investigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of demonstrated logistics and sustainment experience.
  • Experience managing teams of logistics and sustainment professionals and working with geographically distributed customers and staff.
  • 1+ years of experience directly supporting DHS CBP programs.

Desired:

  • Currently working with CBP with an active CBP Background Investigation and Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience with analytical tools and business applications to enhance logistical planning, system performance, and reduce system life-cycle costs.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Washington DC Pay Transparency Range: $160,000 – $190,000.
