Mission

 

Southeast Emulsions is currently accepting applications for the Bulk Liquid Terminal Operator position. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the operation of the production workstation to produce sufficiently and in high-quality within the deadlines and in compliance with safety regulations. This is a full-time position with guaranteed 40-hour work week and advanced opportunities.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Controls the automated or non-automated production system: contributes to the configurationof the data required for production and implements the control instructions determined by the plant manager
  • Ensures that production runs smoothly: monitors the quality and quantity of production inprogress, sets up, operates, and maintains production equipment or machinery
  • Manages raw material procurement requests
  • Produces the elements necessary for reporting: production report, productivity and efficiency indicators, etc.
  • Reports malfunctions to maintenance teams 
  • Complies with safety, hygiene, quality and environmental instructions: checks components forcompliance with tolerances or specifications; may perform finish work
  • Can control the customer loading station: loads the product while respecting quality and quantity, packages, stores, and ships completed goods

Education and/or Experience

 

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of asphalt plant experience (preferred)
  • Some mechanical experience and skills
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills

 

Language Skills

 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • The noise in the work environment is sometimes loud, however does not exceed the OSHA requirement for mandatory hearing protection.
  • The employee must regularly work with hazardous materials (hot liquid asphalt) and chemicals.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather condition, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.

 

This job requires overtime including working weekends and holidays, and rotating work shifts to provide continuous “Coverage” for customer delivery/pickup. The employee's daily starting and quitting times may need to be changed in order to meet changing business requirements.
