Description of Work:

Manages the daily operations of a small organizational unit in multiple functional areas. Responsible for ensuring that all financial, grants administration, and human resource/payroll transactions are provided in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL , State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Business Center Manager manages business center operations and supervises business center staff executing and reviewing complex financial, grants, and human resources transactions, while supporting a culture of excellent customer service. The Business Center Manager interacts directly with departmental and institutional representatives and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the departments served. Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of finance and/or human resources experience; equivalent education/experience considered. One year of experience supervising staff. Experience with SAP or large integrated finance or human resources system. Knowledge of finance, grants, and/or human resources terminology and practices. Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze data and inquiries, think critically, and make appropriate decisions. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead people, projects, and/or teams. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements for travel to other UNL worksites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with human resources in tribal and/or Indigenous organizations. Evidence of cultural humility. Experience facilitating training. Experience serving multiple units as part of a service team. Experience performing finance, grants, and/or human resources-related tasks at a University of Nebraska institution. Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff. Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.

Posted Salary: $59,180/yr minimum
