Job Description - Campus Administrator

FLSA CLASSIFICATION : Exempt COMPENSATION PLAN : Professional Technical PAY RANGE : Range 8 Compensation Information Link Benefits Information Link Core Values Information Link SUPERVISOR : School Principal or designee LAST UPDATED : 07/01/2023 JOB SUMMARY : Assist the Principal/Assistant Principal with instructional and organizational leadership, direction, supervision, operations, and accountability at the school. Implement school practices, procedures, and policies for the attainment of the school's educational philosophy, goals, and objectives and the District's mission and strategic initiatives. Enhance and support growth and academic achievement of all students. Assist with management of the human resources and inspire vision, motivate excellence in instruction, and model service-oriented administration to meet the goals of Future Forward. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs.
  • Maintain a positive, safe educational environment during and outside of the school day and at school events through active supervision. Demonstrate leadership of instructional excellence that leads to student achievement, growth, and engagement through the selection of academic curriculum and implementation of effective instructional strategies. [Daily, 20%]
  • Supervise and monitor student behavior to maintain an academic environment conductive to student achievement including, but not limited to, supervision during lunch, in the hallways, and during extra-curricular activities at night and after school. Support the implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework when applicable. Demonstrate leadership of operational excellence that leads to social/emotional learning and psychological safety for all students, including effective discipline and restorative practices. [Daily, 15%]
  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, and promote/discipline assigned staff. As warranted, assess staffing requisite to achieve expected outcomes; accordingly, support the development of individual and school goals and related priorities. Plan and provide opportunities for staff development and training. [Daily, 10%]
  • Apply federal and state statutes, district policies, and school rules in a consistent, fair, and ethical manner. [Daily, 10%]
  • Develop positive working relationships with all constituents (e.g. parents, teachers, counselors, students, administrators, outside agencies). [Daily, 10%]
  • Work with a diverse range of students daily to ensure individual success. [Daily, 10%]
  • Support and promote student achievement and progress toward graduation through student conferences, interventions, and school-based support systems. [Daily, 10%]
  • Provide leadership in the accountability school improvement process. [Daily, 5%]
  • Inspire a vision and motivate staff in instructional excellence and innovation strategies. [Daily, 5%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum amounts of formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be met for a candidate to be considered for a position
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years of certified teaching experience
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of special education issues
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate knowledge of effective school discipline and restorative justice practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of academic curriculum and effective instructional strategies including innovation
  • Intermediate organizational skills
  • Intermediate human relations, relationship-building, and leadership skills
  • Advanced skills in public relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal relations skills
  • Advanced planning skills
  • Ability to create collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the community
  • Ability to promote and follow the Board of Education policies, District policies, and building and department procedures, protocols, and guidelines
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : The minimum certifications and licenses that must be met, valid, and unexpired for a candidate to be considered for a position
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Principal license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Any job-related formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, licenses, and other criteria that are inessential and in addition to the minimum qualifications, certifications, and licenses
  • Administrator, Director, Manager, Supervisor, Certified Classroom Teacher, Certified Coordinator/Coordinator on Special Assignment/Teacher on Special Assignment (scope of practice must be beyond one school building), Certified Instructional Coach, Dean of Students, Certified Assistant to the Principal, Campus Administrator, School Assistant Principal, or School Principal experience
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS : The physical exertion, cognitive capacities, and work environments required to perform a position's duties and responsibilities
  • Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds)
