Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Establishes and directs the strategic long-term goals, policies, and procedures for Information Technology Services. Determines the University's long-term systems needs, and any hardware acquisitions needed to accomplish business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manages staffing resources for the Department, including providing leadership and guidance to department directors, communicating university needs, identifying development needs, and providing professional development opportunities. Manages employee conflicts and performance issues. Meets with students, faculty, and staff to discuss requests, clarifications, recommendations, and feedback. Coaches and mentors ITS directors.
  • Resolves resource deployment issues. Provides oversight for each ITS department and its resources.
  • Manages budgets and purchases. Identifies areas for streamlining and implements cost saving measures. Evaluates external technology purchase requests to ensure the requests align with University goals and can be incorporated into the technology environment. Fills needs with existing inventory when possible.
  • Researches and evaluates new technology. Meets with developers, integrators, other colleges and universities, and USG to discuss possible solutions to challenges and improvement opportunities.Participates in product and service demonstrations. Presents technology solutions to University administrators.
  • Coordinates campus-wide technology projects.Identifies opportunities, defines goals, and develops plans for projects, including improving current services or introducing new products or services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field 8 year of management experience in information technology leading a team-oriented, collaborative environment

5 years of experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation

5 years of customer service experience Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Information Technology or related field

Experience working in higher education

Proposed Salary

Salary commensurate with experience

Knowledge

Knowledge of current technologies and their application within higher education

Knowledge of trends in technology to identify future opportunities and areas for improvement

Knowledge of computer networks, databases, application development, server and user administration

Knowledge of and a solid understanding of information technology and information security

Skills

Skilled in managing technical staff

Skilled in customer service

Skilled in oral and written communication

Abilities

Ability to evaluate multiple non-technical symptoms to help identify technology solutions

Ability to adapt quickly to unforeseen situations and circumstances
