Job Description - Collections Coordinator

Rehmann is searching for an Accounts Receivable & Collections Coordinator for our client, Howard Fertilizer About Howard Fertilizer Howard Fertilizer & Chemical has evolved from a 1932 small fertilizer operation in downtown Orlando, FL serving the Central Florida citrus growers to the multi-site fertilizer and chemical distribution company of today. Our diverse portfolio of products services the Agriculture, Turf & Ornamental, Pest Control and Retail/Export markets. Job Summary: As a Collections Coordinator, you will assist the Accounts Receivable Manager and Collections Supervisor in all duties associated with collections, accounts receivable, including data entry, and customer service. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make collection calls and follow up on past due payments and skip invoices.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting customers.
  • Answer phone calls from customers and assist in fulfilling their requests, including processing payments, emailing receipts and invoices.
  • Set Up New Customer Accounts.
  • Process incoming payments received via email in compliance with financial, administrative, and clerical services.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting, and recording receivables data.
  • Perform accounts receivable reconciliations and ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Answer emails that are sent to the Credit Inbox daily in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process credit card payments and apply based on customer’s instructions.
  • Work closely with Sales Team and other departments to resolve/research unapplied cash.
  • Communicate with sales team in regards of account status or past due balances.
  • Keep customer accounts updated by recording information, communications, and collection efforts in computer system.
  • Oversee accounts receivable write-offs, adjustments, and payment reversals.
  • Performs other miscellaneous accounting Job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Proven work experience in an account receivable, accounting, or administrative role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment
  • Expert data entry skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer service attitude
